  • First brigade was officially organized in 1907.
  • Currently, there are 18 dedicated and conscientious volunteer firefighters ready to protect the community at a moments notice.
  • The Fire Chief is Bill Kelly and Deputy Chief is John Austin.
  • The Municipality operates three fire departments: one in each ward of the Municipality, with a compliment of 57 dedicated and conscientious volunteer firefighters.
  • Some outlying areas are covered under First Response agreements with neighbouring fire departments ensuring a high level of fire protection and medical aid assistance to all areas.
  • The Fire Chiefs report to the Protective Services Committee on the third Tuesday of each month.
